Bio-innovation support for entrepreneurs throughout North-West Europe

BioBase4SME is a network of European bioeconomy experts offering professional innovation support services to SMEs and start-ups active in the bioeconomy.

With almost €6M in funding from the European Union the expert network is set up to help bioeconomy entrepreneurs through:

  • Professional training
  • Innovation biocamps (apply by 18th March for the next Innovation Biocamp, taking place in the Netherlands, 5th – 10th May 2019)
  • Innovation vouchers worth up to €100.000

In Yorkshire we are working to support the BioBase4SME project with our colleagues at the University of York, BioVale and the NNFCC. The project partners include: AC3A (France); Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant (Belgium); CLIB2012 (Germany); Flanders Biobased Valley (Belgium); Materia Nova (Belgium); NNFCC (UK); REWIN (NL); TCBB Resource (Ireland); University of York (UK).

BioBase4SME is supported by INTERREG North-West Europe (NWE):

INTERREG NWE is a European Territorial Cooperation Programme funded by the European Commission (through the European Fund for Regional Development, EFRD) with the ambition to make the North-West Europe area a key economic player and an attractive place to work and live, with high levels of innovation, sustainability and cohesion. It invests EUR 370 million of European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in activities based on the cooperation of organisations from eight countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
