Participate in the evaluation of a novel vegetable oil

Bottles - resized for webWorking with partners, the BDC is exploring high-value applications for a new type of oilseed rape (OSR).

The project is investigating the commercial feasibility of a thermo-stable rapeseed oil for use in high-value applications, including the lubricants industry. Our project partners will be optimising the agronomy of the crop to produce a high-oleic rapeseed crop suitable primarily for Northern European and UK climates.

From this crop, we will be producing samples of the product for industry evaluation to ensure it meets market demand. In anticipation, the BDC is looking for companies manufacturing or developing products from high-oleic vegetable oil feedstocks to help with the evaluation of the oil.

Please get in touch with Helen Shiels if your company is interested in assessing this oil.
