Joe Ross

Director of the Biorenewables Development Centre (BDC)

Joe provides our strategic direction and was instrumental in setting up the BDC. He spent the last five years focused on business development in the biorenewables sector and ensured that our activities cover the whole supply chain, including Feedstock, Process and Business Development. Outside work, he is a keen golfer – playing, watching and hoping to improve.

He has over 20 years university R&D laboratory and management experience working primarily on the development of novel plant varieties including a wide range of fibre, oilseed and medicinal plant species using fast-track breeding methods.

Get in touch to talk to Joe about the work of the BDC and the plans to build the bioeconomy across the Yorkshire and Humber region: joe.ross@york.ac.uk or 01904 328047.

Alternatively, please speak to Joe’s PA, Yvette Groombridge (yvette.groombridge@york.ac.uk; 01904 328040).
