Mark

Process Development Unit Manager

Mark looks after our process development unit – managing the team and all the process equipment involved in the wide array of projects we have in the centre. Whether dealing with anaerobic digestate or generating high-value flavour and fragrances from exotic plants, he has probably been involved in a project doing it. Away from the BDC, Mark enjoys playing rugby for York RUFC, but as age takes its toll DIY is taking over.

Previously, he worked for YorkTest Laboratories as their technical manager prior to returning to the GCCE to work on microwave-related projects and be their technical manager. Mark did his PhD under James Clark at York investigating cleaner routes to drug molecules with GSK.

Please contact Mark to discuss using our process equipment or any project ideas: mark.gronnow@york.ac.uk or +44 (0) 1904 32 1847.
