Bio-based construction

Bio-based construction

Bio-based construction materials are those made from recently living raw materials such as wood, paper, straw and industrial hemp. These construction materials offer the opportunity to lock up carbon captured from the atmosphere for relatively long periods of time. Recently, our BioVale team launched a Hemp Special Interest Group. This is to facilitate connections across the multiple supply chains related to Industrial Hemp, from growing through to final products and markets. This group is the legacy of the BEIS funded Hemp 30 Project which we were heavily involved in and builds on the Grow Yorkshire commissioned Hemp Supply Chain Study.
